I took the opportunity the last two Tuesdays to use my new 680slr in combination with PX680 and some Expired Polaroid 780 Turbo (Exp 01/2008). And a word of advice, I wouldn't get film any older than this!

Over the last couple of months I have grown tired of slow shutter speeds and blurry(ish) pictures in evening light with my Sx70 + Px70 combo. It was hard to commit to buying film continuously when I knew my multiple unserviced Polaroid cameras weren't giving me what I needed. So I took the plunge and bought an Impossible Project refurbished Polaroid 680slr Camera. This camera is extremely similar to the Polaroid Sx70 in almost every way except for two things. First, it has an automatic flash that can be turned on and off with ease which provides great fill light for those night time gatherings. Secondly, it shoots 600 speed film which opens up my options to use IP's Px680 film.
And for the non photographers: The original Polaroid Sx70 takes 100 speed film and the 680slr takes 600 speed film. 600 speed film is a lot "faster" which enables pictures to be taken in lower lit situations while still obtaining the same exposure.
My first test shot was of Mr. Khan Shadid. SLR680 + Px680 @ 1/8th to Dark. The photo was super sharp in evening light. Bravo Impossible! I will post a full review here in the next couple weeks, so stay tuned.
Last week I had the chance to catch a couple songs by the Plain White T's while they were playing at Strummer's. I snapped a couple photos and wanted to share them.
Last weekend my pals in Clouds Like Mountains invited me to come out to Strummer's and shoot some photos of them opening up for Plain White T's. This was my first visit back to (the old starline) which is now Strummer's and the very first thing I noticed was how much better the lighting was for the musicians. Bravo Strummer's for giving me some light to work with! The band put on a great show and If you haven't heard them yet: go ahead and give them a listen by tuning into New Rock 104.1 this Sunday at 9pm for this weeks Ozmosis. You'll have a chance to hear their new EP "Old Girlfriends Don't Make Good New Friends".
Today is the day I took a leap of faith and left WordPress for Square Space. Why you may ask? Like many photographers, I simply don't have the time to keep up with a CMS that is constantly changing and evolving its features. But more so it was the lack of focus by third party developers to create truly elegant gallery designs for photographers. And lets be honest, once you have seen one "full screen responsive theme" you have seen them all. This wasn't WP's fault but, something kept making me come back to the square space free trial. So after weeks of going back and forth I made the jump. And as of Day 1 I am very relieved to begin my adventure with Square Space. And as my first photo to appear on this blog I give you Baby Sasquatch:
